Starts Monday, July 6th

Our unique program lets young children explore and learn the game of golf in a safe, positive environment. High energy, well-trained instructors will provide a coaching experience that will ensure each junior has fun while cultivating a love for the game of golf.

We introduce golf fundamentals including Grip – Aim – Stance – Posture (GASP). Juniors will engage in every aspect of the game of golf. Full Swing, short game, rules, and etiquette as well as on-course experiences. Instruction will focus on age-appropriate motor skill development through games, practice and play. 3 Levels offered based on age and experience.

Jason Young, PGA Head Professional
Jason Young is in his 21 st year as the Head Golf Professional at Red Rock and has over 30 years of golf instruction experience since turning professional in 1993. Jason was recently named to Golf Digest’s 2024-25 List for Best in State for golf instructors. No matter what level your child is at, Jason and his staff can assure you that the attitude and energy they bring to each class, along with the powerful use of Play and Games, helps create a fun learning environment second to none.

Since 2003, Jason’s Junior Programs have been awarded 7 times the SDGA Amundson Family #1 Junior Program of the Year in South Dakota. Not only are these awards a testament to Jason’s passion but also illustrate the commitment from the Red Rock ownership and membership to provide a facility that welcomes kids and promotes junior golf on and off the course. In 2024 Jason became a PGA of America’s Quarter Century Member for his 25-year membership to the PGA of America.

Bryan Schulte, PGA Associate Golf Professional
Bryan is in his 7 th year at Red Rock as part of the professional staff. Bryan has developed a solid teaching foundation and combined with his enthusiasm for junior golf, he brings a lot of value to the program with his experience as an instructor and player. Bryan is a graduate of SDSM&T and is a native of Rapid City.

The Red Rock Junior Program is structured/designed to develop young talent at various age levels while maximizing the enjoyment of the game of golf in a safe environment.

Each junior golfer will….

● come to understand the importance of giving their best effort each time they come to the golf course

● continue to learn and improve every week in practice and each time on the course

● learn to not let mistakes (or fear of making a mistake) stop them from achieving their goals

● understand rules and proper etiquette in addition to some of the game’s history and traditions

● have the opportunity to receive professional instruction on the fundamentals of the full swing, short game, and putting

● be provided fun competitions in which teamwork is emphasized while learning how to keep a sensible perspective on winning and losing

● be given a program that enhances social skills and fosters new and existing friendships

● be exposed to and learn the positive values that the game of golf offers, such as honesty, appreciation of others, perseverance, courage, and fairness

● be involved with a program that provides an opportunity to improve skills in a setting with responsible, enthusiastic, and passionate instructors
